Amsterdam (October 28, 2020) – eDRV, a SaaS company that’s simplifying electric vehicle charging with its cloud-based charging management system, welcomes Jelle Vastert to its advisory board. Jelle brings over fifteen years of experience in the automotive sector and has spent a large part of his career developing electric mobility propositions to bring electric vehicles to the mass market.

Jelle previously spent five years at Tesla, setting up its European Supercharger network's backbone and expanding coverage to more than 400 DC fast-charging stations.  He oversaw Tesla's programs on network rollout as director of global Electrical Vehicle Infrastructure. Earlier this year, Jelle stepped in as interim COO at VanMoof, a leading Dutch e-bike manufacturer. In recent years, Jelle has also advised SoftBank Energy, Lilium, Lightyear, and Better Place, and started his career in strategy consulting with Booz & Company.

With his strong expertise in EV business models and hands-on experience setting up charging infrastructure, Jelle’s presence on the advisory board will help eDRV achieve its mission of bringing an open charging management solution software as a service (SaaS) to market.

“We’re very excited to have Jelle onboard at eDRV. He is one of the pioneers of our industry and brings unparalleled experience in rolling out electric vehicle charging infrastructure at scale across the EU and North America. We look forward to working with Jelle to bring eDRV’s operations to a global stage”, said Bhaskar Deol, co-founder and CEO of eDRV.

“eDRV is bringing a fresh perspective and a novel approach to the electric vehicle charging industry. I have been impressed by the team’s passion and experience across emerging and developed markets. In a short period, they have ramped up efforts in India, rolled out a regional charging network, and worked with New York’s NYSERDA to provide network services for charging in the U.S. Their on-going partnerships with other leaders in the space, such as SmartCar to introduce features like Plug & Go, are further helping them differentiate in this space. I am excited to support eDRV in taking the promise of the company’s solution to the global EV charging market”, said Jelle Vastert.

About eDRV: eDRV is the world's first open API platform for EV charging management, which works with any unlocked, network-capable EV charge station and supports both OCPP 1.6 and 2.0.1 for AC and DC fast chargers.
